For over a decade, Bryan Zive has emerged as an influential contemporary Jewish musician and educator throughout the progressive Jewish movements in North America. Combining love and meaning with prayer and text, Bryan uses his music to set the mood for people of all ages, merging traditional liturgy, Jewish themes with modern music to help them become more connected with their Jewish identities.
Bryan’s music is widely included in congregational and camp repertoires across North America. Bryan, along with his original group, "Kol Echad", released two full length Contemporary Jewish Music albums between 2007-2010.
"Its' No Dream", produced by Josh Nelson features tracks such as "Hareiu and Or Zarua", complete with a radio-ready, dynamic sound. One of its tracks, "Rock and Redeemer", was chosen to be included on Transcontinental Music's Compilation release "Ruach 5769" as one of the 19 most popular new Jewish songs. Released in 2010, "Follow in My Footsteps", produced by Scott Leader, features even stronger instrumentation and powerful harmonies in songs such as "Avodah", "Return" and "Answer Me".
Since 2010, Bryan has continued to evolve his style of infusing music into education while composing even more music. His professional life grew even stronger while serving as the full-time Chazzan of Temple Sinai in Denver, CO starting in 2009. Bryan, and his wife, Melyssa, decided to leave Colorado Bryan could pursue his dream: becoming a Rabbi, attending Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles, studying hard to be ordained in May 2019. He currently serves Stephen Wise Temple in Los Angeles as their Rabbinic Intern.
Since then, Bryan and Melyssa have had the joy of raising their beautiful son, Hayden and continue to do their best to infuse music, prayer and Judaism into their lives and into the hearts of those around them.
